Ballet Master Class 2019BY MR. KENNETH KWONG, CHAIRMAN OF THE HONG KONG CHALLENGE CUP

Mr. Kenneth Kwong is the Chairman of Hong Kong Smart Dance Extravaganza cum Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition. Mr. Kwong is the originator and author of the “Scientific Approach for Ballet Handbook – Alignment, Turn, Leap”. The goal of his approach is to enhance dance education standards through dance science, to achieve distinctive results while preventing injury. He will use his unique approach for a 4-day Master Class in Singapore – don’t miss this unique opportunity!

As a coordinator, Mr. Kwong participated in many dance projects like Artist-in-Residence Scheme for the Hong Kong Dance Federation and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department in Hong Kong. He also led the Hong Kong Troupe for cultural exchange projects to Cyprus, Macau and Australia. Recently, he devotes all his effort to promote the RAD, ACB, Jazzaddict and Urban Ignition examinations in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China. He is also actively involved in the cultural exchange activities of the Pearl River Delta Cultural Exchange programmes. Mr. Kwong is the Chairman and organizer of the Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition.

As a choreographer and artistic director, he won many awards including creative awards, 1st prize in Hong Kong and 2nd prize in China. He also staged many full-length productions.

As a dancer, he danced for the Hong Kong Ballet for seven years and also founded the Hong Kong Ballet Youth Education Unit. When he was in London, he also danced in the Tom Arnold Associates production “The King and I” with Yul Bryner in London Palladium.

Hong Kong Challenge Cup Scholarship

One Master Class participant will be selected for a full entrance fee scholarship to the 2019 Hong Kong Challenge Cup Competition.

Yan Ballet Academy will also provide a scholarship to one of the HKCC 2019 winners to join this Master Class.

Master Class Schedule & Fees

The Master Class fee is 420$ (380$ for YBA students) in total for 4 days (8-11 Aug 2019), 3 hours per day (2 x 1.5 hour sessions). There will be a 3 hour break in between the two teaching sessions. The students are encouraged to stay at YBA for this time as well. Our school will be closed for the duration of the Master Class, so our second studio will be used as a lunch and social room for the group that is on break.

We will have multiple teachers and admin ladies there at all times to supervise. That means that you can drop off your child before the morning session and pick them up after the afternoon class finishes.

The students should bring their own lunch each day.

The classes have the following age requirements:
