Ms. Jenell Tan
Ballet Teacher

Ms. Jenell Tan began her ballet journey at three and a half years old. At the age of five, she commenced private coaching under Ms. Yan and has continued to develop under her close guidance ever since. Through many years of dedicated training, Ms. Jenell has established a strong foundation in classical ballet, shaped by discipline, perseverance and careful attention to technique.

A committed student of the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, Ms. Jenell has completed the RAD graded examinations and progressed through the vocational levels to Advanced Foundation. She has also gained valuable stage and competition experience.

Ms. Jenell is currently pursuing her dance studies at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), where she continues to broaden her technical ability, performance experience and artistic understanding. Her formal dance education complements the strong classical foundation she has developed through her many years of training at Yan Ballet Academy.

Having trained under Ms. Yan’s close mentorship from a young age, Ms. Jenell is now developing as an educator through the YBA Teacher Training Programme. Her experience as both a student and aspiring teacher gives her a thoughtful understanding of the patience, encouragement and disciplined progression required at each stage of a dancer’s development.

In her teaching, Ms. Jenell aims to create a positive and supportive learning environment while helping students develop strong fundamentals, confidence and musicality. She hopes to pass on the knowledge and values she has gained, nurturing in each student a lasting appreciation for the discipline and artistry of classical ballet.
